Following on from the successful Benbrack project Farrell Contracts were awarded the North Kyle wind farm sub stn civil works package by Jones Bros Civil Engineering located in the same area as Benbrack.

The scope of works included the following elements:

• RC sub structure works
• Full super structure works
• Drainage and ducting to the sub stn platform area
• Security Fencing
• Electrical Plinths

Works commenced Dec 2023 and were completed June 24, meeting tight programme requirements as the sub stn was on the project critical path to allow phased energization of the wind farm project for the developer.

Works also required on going co ordination with Scottish Power Energy Networks who were building a new 110kv sub stn adjacent to the wind farm sub station at the same time.
